WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

◆ Sumo Wrestling in Hiroshima

◆ Himeji Castle
Himeji Castle was the first castle in Japan to be designated as a World Heritage Site, and is a beautiful castle with a pure white stucco exterior wall. It is also called Shirasagi Castle, and when viewed from a distance, it is reminiscent of the graceful fluttering of white birds.
However, in reality, it is also a strong fortress with many layers of ingenuity for defense and attack in preparation for battle with the enemy. Be sure to visit and experience the mighty world of samurai 400 years ago.

◆ Kurashiki
The city of Kurashiki prospered as a port under the direct control of the government during the Edo period. A group of white-walled merchant houses was formed on the canal drawn from the sea. After the Meiji period, due to the development of the spinning industry, Kurashiki became the "town of textiles" with the highest annual shipment value in Japan. Even in the post-war period of modernization, efforts were made to protect buildings and beautiful areas were formed.

◆Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
“The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum conveys the horror and inhumanity of nuclear weapons to the people of the world through atomic bomb materials, mementos, and testimonies, and appeals for no more Hiroshima.” (Message from the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum)
Built by Kenzo Tange, a world-famous architect.
This museum, which spreads peace to the world, is divided into several sections, but "Hiroshima on August 6" exhibits the devastation and damage caused by radiation at that time. In addition, in the "A-bomb survivors" corner, we will tell you how the people who were exposed to radiation survived. Together with the introductory exhibition "History of Hiroshima", visitors are made to think about what can be done to prevent the tragedy of World War II from repeating itself.

◆ Atomic Bomb Dome (Peace Memorial Park)
This building, called the Atomic Bomb Dome, is a symbol of the abolition of nuclear weapons. In 1996, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its value as a monument of peace shared by all humankind.
At that time, the building itself was bustling as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, but on August 6, 1945, it was destroyed by an atomic bomb that exploded about 600m above the ground. At that time, the interior was completely burned down, but the central part miraculously escaped collapse, making it a valuable A-bomb ruin.
Together with the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, the Peace Memorial Park, with the Atomic Bomb Dome at the top, was designed by Kenzo Tange based on the concept of "a factory that creates peace", and is still visited by people from all over the world.
