[NEW]Sumo Wrestling in Kochi / Kochi Castle, Himeji Castle and Kurashiki Tour
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
◆ Sumo Wrestling in Kochi
◆ Himeji Castle
Himeji Castle was the first castle in Japan to be designated as a World Heritage Site, and is a beautiful castle with a pure white stucco exterior wall. It is also called Shirasagi Castle, and when viewed from a distance, it is reminiscent of the graceful fluttering of white birds.
However, in reality, it is also a strong fortress with many layers of ingenuity for defense and attack in preparation for battle with the enemy. Be sure to visit and experience the mighty world of samurai 400 years ago.
The city of Kurashiki prospered as a port under the direct control of the government during the Edo period. A group of white-walled merchant houses was formed on the canal drawn from the sea. After the Meiji period, due to the development of the spinning industry, Kurashiki became the "town of textiles" with the highest annual shipment value in Japan. Even in the post-war period of modernization, efforts were made to protect buildings and beautiful areas were formed.
◆ Kochi Castle
Castles built in the Edo period or earlier that still exist today are called genzon tenshu, and there are 12 castles in Japan that still have surviving castle towers. Kochi Castle is one of them. In addition, this Kochi Castle is also a very valuable castle that remains as it was at the time, with the castle tower and Honmaru Palace. Many other buildings in the castle remain in a state similar to the Edo period, and you may feel as if you have slipped back in time. The view from the castle tower is also wonderful.
◆ Obiyamachi, Hirome Market
Obiyamachi is Kochi's number one shopping district. Located in the former Kochi castle town, it is now the busiest downtown area in Kochi.
Among them, Hirome Market is a popular sightseeing spot in Kochi, and is a large food stall village where Kochi's food and sake are gathered. A wide variety of Kochi delicacies, such as the bold straw-grilled bonito, street dumplings, fresh seafood, and more! The store is full of energy all day long.
