WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Toyosu Market Tour
In the first half of this tour, your guide will show around Toyosu Market, the largest wholesale fish market in the world. As well as exploring the many observation decks and shopping areas, guests will also be able to enter Toyosu Inside Market, which ordinarily denies access to the public and can only be entered via a licensed tour. Here you will you select the ingredients for your sushi-making workshop.
Sushi-making Workshop
After your Toyosu tour, your tour guide will take you via taxi to our state-of-the-art Grand TJT facility near Tokyo Tower. Here you will take part in a sushi-making lesson. As part of this lesson, our nationally-accredited sushi instructor will explain to you about the history and etiquette of sushi. You will also learn to make two of Japan's most traditional forms of sushi:
• Nigiri Sushi - The most traditional form of sushi. Hand-molded rice capped with a seafood, meat or vegetable topping.
• Gunkan Maki- Also known as "boat-shaped sushi." This type of sushi is wrapped in nori seaweed and is usually topped with softer ingredients such as cod roe or imitation crab.
