The complex geographical features, consisting of extended peninsula and narrow cove, accelerated the great damage of the tsunami in 2011. However, the sophisticated form of lands creates one of the most magnificent views of shoreline in Asia. The Golden Hall in Hiraizumi, the World Heritage site, is said to be the very temple, which Marco Polo called "Zipangu, the Land of Gold." In this tour, you would feel Japan's cultures by various ways, such as experiencing Casual Kimono Wearing & Tea Ceremony, visiting impressive temples and castle ruins, and trekking in a mountain. You will also see the sites which have been revived after the 2011 earthquake.

Hotel -> Instruction of the Tour, Experience Tea Ceremony at Koishikawa Koryuan -> Sendai -> Hotel
You meet your guide at your hotel and come to our venue Koishikawa Koryuan to have tea ceremony experience and a lecture on Japan’s culture and earthquakes. After having lunch at the venue, you leave Tokyo for Sendai, the biggest town in Northern Honshu, and take a walk around. We provide you with restaurant reservation and sending service if you would like.

Hotel -> Matsushima (Cruise) -> Sendai -> Zuihoden -> Sendai City Museum -> Sendai Castel Ruins-> Hotel
Today you explore Sendai and Matsushima areas. You have a ferry ride to enjoy the scenic view in Matsushima where small islands and the ocean are beautifully interwoven. Go back to Sendai to have lunch and take a local sightseeing bus to visit major sites, such as Zuihoden, Sendai Museum, and Sendai castle, all related closely to Masamune Date, one of the most powerful feudal lords of the Edo Period. The Cultural Heritage of Hiraizumi is composed of temples and gardens which represent an ideal world based on the thought of Pure Land Buddhism sect that people aspire to after death. Its unique idea of garden planning and design consisted of Japan's ancient nature worship and Shintoism along with Buddhism. By visiting Hiraizumi, you would not only have a feeling of peace and serenity but build expand an understanding of Japanese culture and mind.

You will visit the sites that have been revived and take pleasure in fishery and ocean views in Kesennuma area. Fish market would delight you with its different specialty than the Tokyo fish market does; you can see fishermen cutting shirks’ fins on large piles of shirks, for example. After breakfast at hotel, learn about the earthquake and its impacts in the Rias Ark Museum of Art. Then by taxi you are guided to places influenced by earthquake and beautiful scenic sites.

Today is for you to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate in nature. You go trekking in the Hachimantai Plateau. Everyone including beginners and seniors can delight in walking in the moderate incline of the mountain as well as the breathtaking scenery at the peak. Tamagawa Hot Spring after a light exercise surely heals both your mind and body. Then go back to Morioka to have a farewell dinner hosted by your guide.

Final sightseeing site is Risshakuji Temple which is located in mountain in Yamagata prefecture. Appreciate tranquility and magnificent scenery from the top. The sensational temple inspired the popular poet in Edo era, Basho Matsuo to read one of Today’s most famous poetries. Get back to Tokyo and say Sayonara to your guide.
